The Czech Association of Academic Technical Sports is a dynamic multisport organization whose main mission is to develop technical sports through events, competitions and races of a mass, performance and top character, especially among young people, who make up almost 90 % of the Association membership base.
As part of the activities of the Association and its 17 sports university clubs, 12 sports sectors can be operated, including 2 Olympic sports, such as biathlon and shooting. The offer of Olympic sports is complemented by 10 non-Olympic sports. These are summer biathlon, aerial sports, paragliding, radio orienteering, diving, finswimming, fire sport, aerial modeling, sports kynology and esport.
In all these sports sectors, Czech University Championships are organized every year, in cooperation with our partner organization Czech University Sports Association. The university championship in finswimming is part of the Czech University Games program every year.
The sport’s highlight for athletes-students is the summer and winter World University Games (formerly World Universiades), organized in two-year cycles by the International University Sports Federation – FISU, as well as the World University Cups (formerly World University Championships).
We currently register more than 1500 members in our 15 sports university clubs. Activities and program of our Association are not only focused on registered members, but are open to all students of higher education institutions in our country.
In addition to Czech University Sports Association, our Assocation cooperates in the organization of its competitions also with the relevant national associations of individual sports sectors and also with the universities themselves, where our sports clubs are set up, especially with their sports faculties. In addition to FISU, EUSA (European University Sports Association), which organises European University Games and European University Championships, is also an important sports partner of our Association on the international sports scene.
